Every Cafe in Orchard Gives Me Another Reason to Stay With You

A matte blue ceramic cup filled with a hot latte rests on a matching saucer alongside a small spoon. The steamed milk foam features intricate latte art depicting stacked heart patterns, sitting atop a green tiled cafe tabletop.

I never really needed an excuse to spend more time with you, but somehow, every cafu00e9 we discover along Orchard Road gives me another one.

We might say we are only stopping for coffee before heading home, but I already know I will secretly hope we stay a little longer. Maybe we will order another drink.

Maybe we will share dessert. Maybe we will simply keep talking until we realize how late it has become.

I remember one of our dates when we were supposed to meet for just an hour. You arrived smiling, and somehow that one hour became an entire afternoon. We talked about our plans, our worries, the things we wanted to accomplish, and the completely random thoughts that somehow make sense only when we are together.

I remember looking at you across the table and thinking how easy it felt to be myself around you.

There are also the quieter memories I hold close. Walking through Orchard after coffee, brushing shoulders as we move through the crowd, stopping occasionally because one of us notices something interesting in a shop window.

Nothing particularly romantic happened, yet I felt incredibly loved. Sometimes love is not a grand gesture. Sometimes it is simply having someone who makes an ordinary afternoon feel worth remembering.

So perhaps it is not really the cafu00e9s that give me reasons to stay. It is you. The cafes simply give us somewhere to sit, somewhere to talk, somewhere to laugh, and somewhere to make another memory together.

And if every coffee date gives me a few more hours with you, then I think I will always be happy to order one more cup.
